So here’s the plan.

I have been working on a plan.  Well, that’s actually not correct.  I’ve been working on a plan and have put it into motion already.  We’re one week into the plan.

In order to lose weight and get healthier, here’s what I will do:

1.  Exercise every day during the month of November. (Starting Monday, Oct. 27 because why wait?)

2. Drink 10 glasses of water a day

3.  Eat a minimum of 7 servings of fruits and veggies a day, every day.  NO EXCUSES.

4. Keep track of food every day.

5.  Keep calorie intake less than 1600 a day

6. Weigh in no more than once a week

7.  Lose 4 pounds a month

8. Eat low fat, aim for heart healthy fats

9. Don’t stuff your feelings

10. Journal

It will be intense, and I can’t wait.

It’s Food Prep Sunday!

It seemed to take much longer today, for some reason.

For our Sunday dinner, I made pot roast.  I just put a rump roast in the crock pot with some beef broth, salt, and pepper and cooked it for the day. 

I put two potatoes in the oven to bake, and one sweet potato.  I ate one of the potatoes and have one for later in the week.  The sweet potato is peeled and is ready to eat another day. 

The pot roast will make several more meals.  I’ll eat it one day for lunch with the potato.  Hubby will eat it for lunch one day with the leftover mashed potatoes and gravy he had tonight.  We’ll have French dip sandwiches one night this week for dinner, with au jus and rolls I bought today. 

By Friday, if there is still pot roast left, it’ll make a delicious beef barley soup. 

For the rest of the food prep, I made seven salads in jars, cut up a bunch of carrots for carrot sticks, cut up celery for celery sticks, cut up four green peppers, washed a huge bunch of grapes, cut up a cucumber for tomorrow’s lunch, and cut up veggies for tomorrow’s stir fry. 

I have a smoothie made up for tomorrow morning. 

Still have some things to do, but mostly feel pretty good about what’s been done.  Onward,





Not bad

Weighed in this morning. Very glad to say despite being at a conference for the past six days, I did very well. Gained 0.4 pounds despite eating everything.

TODAY I am starting the work to lose weight. There are NO MORE EXCUSES. No conference coming up, no big race, no postponing this.

My lunch is packed with loads of yummy things. My exercise bag is packed and ready to throw in the car. I just need to unglue my ass from this chair and go.

ONWARD.





Sunday food prep

Quickie because it is quite late and it’s been a very busy day. 

Got the food prep done because hubster helped.  Put together 6 salads in jars for our week, 3 for each of us.

Cut up 4 green peppers into slices to snag and eat.

Cut up more carrots for Tuesday and Thursday dinners (beef stew Tuesday, stir fry Thursday).

Cut up more cauliflower for stir fry Thursday.

Cut up celery for sticks for snag and eat.

Made lasagna for tomorrow night dinner (hubster just has to finish it in the oven) and two other lasagnas for quick dinners down the road.

 

Ready for the week ahead. 

 

 





So, not happy with how my life’s been going

Since the race, I have been absolutely dragging.  Oh, I expected to be tired and all that, but I didn’t expect to be drained physically and mentally.  And then my cat had to be put to sleep, and that drained me emotionally. 

So I’ve been dragging, dragging to bed past midnight, dragging myself up, dragging myself through a shift, feeling like Sisyphus pushing that damn boulder over and over again.  Not getting anywhere, just doing the same thing over and over. 

Not going to do this anymore.

I’m formulating a plan and implementing it now.  More to come.
